:: What is Manga?::
The word "manga" which literally means humor, can refer to any kind of illustrated story, although its use has been restricted to Japanese comics.
The art of telling stories through drawing, in Japan, began long ago. It has long been telling stories with prints depicting samurai through screen printing. The first record of which we have information, dates from the twelfth century, and refers to the creation of a Buddhist monk Toba, that using carved wooden blocks for printing, Illustrated published a satire on religious and noble Japanese, papyrus, known Parchment and Animal.
A feature of the "manga" is its own form. Following a trend throughout history, the appearance of your current presentation has nothing in common with the comic books we usually read, but like thick phone books than magazines. Current magazines "manga" are usually the same physical dimensions of the comic ocidententais: 18 by 25 centimeters and, on average, from 150 to 600 pages. Etymology of the word
The word manga is made up of two kanji (ideograms). The first ideogram (man) means humor, comic, grace. The second, (ga), ie drawing, painting, figure. Literally, manga means "humor"
Sailor Moon World
In Japan Naoko Takeuchi did weekly stories in manga format to get the magazine Shoujo Nakayoshi (weekly magazine with several of romance manga). Sailor Moon was first published in 1992 and was a huge success, being published in 18 copies of the series.
