Fanfic is the abbreviation of the term in English fan fiction, or "fiction created by fans." In other words, these are short stories or novels written by those who like a particular movie, book, comic or any other media.
Types of Fanfiction

Doujinshi

Fanficção japanese, based on the manga written and drawn by fans of these series, like a fanzine for a manga. The term derives from doujin literary group, which was the traditional way of production, and Shi, which means magazine or distribution. Some may consider the work of fans (fanwork), for many are simply publications manga short run.

Typically, the term usually refers to manga and zines by artists not professionalized, and may contain as much as the original stories based on a manga or anime fashion, and popular.
However, for fanfic writers engaged in creating stories inspired by anime and manga classified their work as doujinshi, even when it is only text and not have illustrations.

Doujinshi Circle The term is used to designate a group of artists working together to create a work. The Clamp began his career as a Doujinshin Circle, with 11 members in the beginning. The Brazilian group Crimson Mark (or Mark rubra) inaugurated on 09 September 2007, a Web site, Mahou Gakkou Amaterasu, trying to establish itself as a virtual Doujinshi Circle, although his work is primarily textual.

Mary Sue

Some types of fanficções are called by Mary Sue style, a format more "sweet" in the form of short story, novel or novel, melodramatic and appealing.
The style name is a tribute to Lieutenant Mary Sue, a character fanfics Journey of the Stars of the 80s that defined the archetype of the perfect character highly idealized. Also called Mary Sue (or Gary Stu, the male version) the fanfictions where the main character is nearly ubiquitous, being completely unattainable.

Other Types

Darkfic - Fanfic abundant scenes depressive, dark atmospheres and distressing situations. It is the opposite of fanfics defined by the term "waffy.

Deathfic - Where the main characters die.

Slash - Fanfic whose main theme focuses on the relationship (love, friendship, etc.) between two central characters. "Slash" is the English word for "bar". Ex: Aragorn / Boromir, Spock / Kirk, Mulder / Scully. The vast majority now interprets the word as a sign of homosexual relationships.

Fanon - Indicates the presence of ideas already prevalent in other fanfics and became as popular as the original work.

Lemon - Fanfic with scenes of sex between men (detail).

Orange - Fanfic with scenes of sex between women (detailed).

Yaoi - Fanfic with romance between two men.

Yuri - Fanfic with romance between two women.

Shonen-ai - Fanfic with romance between two men (light).

Shoujo-ai - Fanfic with romance between two women (light).

Shotacon - Fanfic with romance between an older man with a new one.

Lolicon - Fanfic with romance between an older woman with a younger.

Hentai - Fanfic with scenes of sex (explicitly).

Citrus - Fanfic's adult novel, may or may not contain sex scenes.

Canon - Follow the "Canon".
Refers to fanfics that faithfully follow the story, especially in terms of shippers (couples) and characterization of characters.

Oneshot - Fanfic that contains only one chapter (one-shot: one-shot (for being a quick read)), be it short and posted at once or over and posted in parts.

Songfic - When the fanfic accompanied by the following letter (and / or translation) of music, chosen by the author, as the soundtrack.
Usually your genre is drama and are oneshots.

U.A. (Alternate Universe) - Where the fanfic goes in a different world created by the author's original series, but using the existing characters in the story, most of the time trying not to alter the physical and psychological characteristics of the characters.

Types Classification

G (Free or K / K +) - Fic released for all ages. The site is divided Ratings Fiction classified into two categories: K and K +.

K: Content free of any coarse language, violence and adult themes.

K +: Content with lesser degrees of violence, innuendo, coarse language and no adult themes, recommended for children older than 9 years.

PG-13 (NC-13 or T) - Not recommended for children under thirteen years to contain some violence, language slightly coarse, and suggestion of adult themes.
Lighter scenes.

PG-15 (PG or NC-15) - Not recommended for children under fifteen years because it contains scenes of violence, coarse language and mild adult themes. Scene style medium.

PG-17 (NC-17, M / MA or R) - Not recommended for children under seventeen years because it contains scenes of explicit description of violence, open use of strong coarse language and adult themes treated in a detailed and explicit. Scenes strong.
